Position Summary
The Department of Agronomy, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, has issued an Advertisement for the post of Young Professional-II (YP-II) under the project “Development of diverse cropping and agroforestry-based system for management of soil health and its impact on carbon sequestration,” funded by the Uttar Pradesh Council of Agricultural Research, Lucknow, for a total project duration of 3 years. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Vacancy: 1 post (Young Professional-II).
Emoluments: Rs. 42,000/- per month (Fixed, as per ICAR norms).
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. (Ag.) degree in Agroforestry/Agronomy/Horticulture/Soil Science/Agricultural Chemistry with a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture.
Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of Vindhyan region agroforestry research and data handling; willingness to work at farmers’ fields; proven experience in estimating carbon sequestration from trees and soil; proficiency in computer and statistical analysis tools (R software, SPSS, etc.); and possession of a valid driving license.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years, maximum 45 years, with relaxation of 5 years for Female/SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for physically handicapped candidates as per government rules.
Duration: Initially for one year, extendable based on first-year performance; total project duration is 3 years.
Project Site: RGSC, Banaras Hindu University, Barkachha, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh – 231 307.
