Young Professional – I position under the project “Identification of Chickpea genotypes with enhanced Phosphorus acquisition efficiency along with characterization of floral abscission in Long duration Pigeonpea”

Position Summary

The Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, has issued an Advertisement for one post of Young Professional-I (YP-I) under the project “Identification of Chickpea genotypes with enhanced Phosphorus acquisition efficiency along with characterization of floral abscission in Long duration Pigeonpea,” funded by U.P. Council of Agricultural Research Sponsored Research, Lucknow, for a total project period of 3 years. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Vacancy: 1 post (Young Professional-I).

Emoluments: Rs. 30,000/- per month (consolidated).

Essential Qualification: B.Sc. (Ag.) with minimum 55% marks.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in laboratory work and field experiments with computer knowledge; candidates having a Master’s degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding will be preferred.

Age Limit: Maximum 28 years, with 5 years’ relaxation for SC/ST/Physically Challenged/Female candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.

Duration: Initially for one year, extendable based on first-year performance; total project duration is 3 years.
