Junior Research Fellow Position under the project Influence of imbibition and drainage on biodegradation in porous media

Position Summary

The Office of Research and Consultancy, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut, has announced a Hybrid mode Interview for the engagement of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a contract basis in the Department of Bioscience and Engineering, under an ANRF-sponsored research project.

Vacancy: 1 post (Junior Research Fellow).

Project: “Influence of imbibition and drainage on plastic biodegradation in porous media,” sponsored by ANRF (project reference: ANRF/ECRG/2025/004526/ENS).

Duration: 1 year or until 31.03.2027, whichever is earlier, on contract basis; extendable based on candidate performance and availability of project funds.

Essential Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering/Biotechnology/Life Sciences with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or equivalent. GATE/NET qualification is mandatory.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in designing and monitoring experimental setups.

Consolidated Monthly Pay: Rs. 37,000/- + 20% HRA.
