Position Summary

The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, has issued an advertisement dated 9th June 2026 inviting applications from Indian nationals only for a project position under the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering. The position is for a Junior Research Fellow (1 position), under the Principal Investigator Prof. Shailly Tomar, for the project titled “Mechanistic and Receptor Insights into E protein Driven Innate Immune Dysfunction in Orthoflavivirus (Zika and KFDV),” sponsored by ANRF, New Delhi.

The required qualification is a Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Life Science, or any allied areas of biological science with a minimum of 60% marks, along with a valid GATE or CSIR-UGC NET qualification. The emoluments offered are Rs. 37,000 plus 10% HRA, for a duration of 12 months. The job description includes molecular biology, cloning, expression, basics of molecular virology, cDNA preparation, RT-PCR, mammalian cell culture, and in vitro cell-based assays related to virus propagation and quantification; protein production and purification are considered an add-on skill.

Original documents must be produced at the time of interview for verification.
