Project Associate-I position for a project titled- “Mechanisms of cell geometric reconfiguration driving stem cell niche establishment during regeneration”

Position Summary

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, a premier Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has issued Advertisement No. 42/2026 inviting applications from Indian nationals for one temporary position of Project Associate-I on a purely contractual basis under a DBT-funded project.

Project: “Mechanisms of cell geometric reconfiguration driving stem cell niche establishment during regeneration”
Funding Agency: Department of Biotechnology (DBT) 

Vacancy: 1 post, purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Minimum Educational Qualification: M.Sc./B.Tech. in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioengineering with minimum 70% marks or equivalent grade. An additional percentage cut-off may be applied during screening if needed.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in molecular biology and genetics techniques is a must; prior experience in handling microscopes and imaging is required, with confocal microscope experience specifically preferred.

Job Requirements: Assisting in ongoing experiments using Arabidopsis root tip regeneration as a model for genetic screens; generating molecular cloning tools for the project; performing image analysis to quantify and analyze cell geometry.

Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 30,000/- + 30% HRA per month for others; Rs. 37,000/- + 30% HRA per month for candidates with valid CSIR-NET/GATE/DBT-JRF or equivalent national-level test scorecard.

Age Limit: Not more than 35 years on the last date of application submission, with possible relaxation for candidates with higher qualifications/experience upon competent authority approval.

Tenure: Initially for 1 year, extendable subject to project continuation and satisfactory performance.
