Recruitment for the post of Project Associate-I

Position Summary

CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has issued a Walk-in-Interview notification for multiple purely temporary positions of Project Associate-I (PAT-I) and Project Assistant-II (PA-II) across several subject areas.

Project Associate-I (PAT-I) Vacancies — 4 Post Codes, 7 posts total:

ETD-4 (Environment Biotechnology) — 2 posts: M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Zoology/Environment Technology, or B.Tech./B.E. in Chemical/Civil/Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering.

ETD-6 (Microbiology/Biotechnology) — 2 posts: M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology.

ETD-7 (Microbiology/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Chemistry) — 2 posts: M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Chemistry, or B.Tech./B.E. in Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering.

ETD-10 (Environmental Biotechnology) — 1 post: M.Sc. in Biological/Environmental Science, or B.Tech./B.E. in Environmental Engineering/Biotechnology.

Monthly Stipend (PAT-I): Rs. 31,000/- + 20% HRA for candidates qualified in CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET (including lectureship), GATE, or equivalent national-level examinations; Rs. 25,000/- + 20% HRA for others.

Project Assistant-II (PA-II) Vacancies:

BDD-I and INC-I — 1 post each: Three-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology or B.Sc. in any discipline. Stipend: Rs. 20,000/- + 20% HRA.

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years on the date of walk-in interview, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD and female candidates as per GOI/CSIR rules.

Interview Date: 30.06.2026. Candidates must report at CSIR-NIIST by 09:00 AM; no entry after 09:30 AM. Only candidates whose final results have been declared on or before the interview date are eligible.

Application Process: The prescribed application form must be downloaded from the CSIR-NIIST website, filled in, and submitted at the time of the walk-in interview along with self-attested copies of certificates/mark sheets (from Matriculation onwards) and all original certificates for verification. A written test may be conducted if necessary. Waitlisted candidates may be considered for future project vacancies arising within one year from the interview date.
