Your tasks
- Further development of the research area of traffic-induced soil changes, including the maintenance of the soil pressure test rig of the department.
- Supervision of the workspace for geotechnical testing procedures
- Participating in research projects in the different phases
- Securing third-party funding for research projects
- Teaching load of 5 semester hours per week
- Independent delivery of lectures and performance assessments, particularly in the fields of forestry technology and geotechnical testing methods
- Supervision of student work (B.Sc. theses, M.Sc. theses, project work)
- Coordination of the combined faculty and department workshop
- Supporting the department head in the administration of the department, organizing teaching and supporting research
Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree in forestry
- PhD in the field
- Research experience and expertise in the field of forestry work science and process technology
- In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics relationships in forestry work processes and soil mechanics testing procedures
- Knowledge in the field of chassis technology, power transmission and control systems relevant to forestry machines
- Several years of experience in successful teaching in the fields of forestry technology, forestry work methods and forest development, as well as in supervising theses in the subject area.
- Good knowledge of the funding landscape and experience in acquiring funding.
- Advanced knowledge of data processing and statistical analysis in at least one programming language (preferably R)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills (German and English)
- Strong organizational skills
- Physical fitness and high resilience for field surveys in extreme terrain
