Management of the new research building Center for Translational Evolutionary Biology (CeTEB)

Your tasks:

  • Administrative management of the CeTEB research center, including coordination of CeTEB-related activities and management of day-to-day operations
  • Budget responsibility and management
  • Management of the general CeTEB infrastructure, including collaboration with the university’s building management as well as technical services and external service providers.
  • Coordination of cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the university administrations, the Biology Section, and other participating institutions.
  • Promoting young talent, equality, public relations and networking
  • Further development of the research center, including support in the development of new research initiatives.
  • Direct support in the implementation of ongoing research initiatives

Your profile:

  • Completed university studies and a very good completed doctorate in natural sciences or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in the development and scientific coordination of research consortia
  • Several years of experience in budget management
  • Proven experience in collaborating with managers, committees and working groups; familiarity with university structures and their typical decision-making, voting and participation processes.
  • German language skills (level C2), English language skills (level C1)

  • Quick comprehension, analytical thinking skills, a structured and proactive approach
  • Teamwork skills and excellent communication skills
  • High level of cooperation skills with colleagues from various areas of the university
  • Working independently

Desirable features include:

  • Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in managing employees
  • Experience in managing scientific institutions or centers
  • Knowledge in the field of occupational safety and health
