Position Summary
CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology, Sector 39-A, Chandigarh-160036, has issued a Rolling Advertisement (No. 2026-06-01) inviting applications for Project Associate-I (PA-I) positions under two ongoing projects: “Microbial resource of authentic strains and related technical services: Ready-to-cater Indian Industry” (TSP-003) and “Microbial Type Culture Collection & Gene Bank (MTCC), a microbial resource centre and International Depository (IDA)” (MLP-065).
There are two posts, each for Project Associate-I, with 1 position each.
For both posts, the Essential Qualification is a Master’s/Integrated Master’s degree in Natural, Agricultural, or Pharmaceutical Sciences/MVSc/Animal Sciences from a recognized university, OR a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine from a recognized university.
For the first post (TSP-003), the Desirable Qualification is an M.Sc. in Life Sciences subjects. For the second post (MLP-065), the Desirable Qualification is experience in Cell Culture, Microbial Culture, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology Techniques.
Upper Age Limit: 35 years, with relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
Monthly Emoluments:
- Rs. 31,000 + HRA for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship) or GATE, or those selected through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments such as DBT/DST or equivalent agencies/institutions.
- Rs. 25,000 + HRA for others not falling under the above category.
Note: Result-awaited candidates are not eligible to apply. In case of any dispute, the English version of the advertisement will prevail.
