Position Summary

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda, Department of Microbiology, has issued Advertisement No. AB/Micro/2026 for a Walk-in-Interview for the post of Project Technical Support III (1 post) on a contractual basis, under the ICMR-funded project “Decoding Carbapenem Resistant–Hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae: Clinical and Laboratory Characterisation to Develop an Artificial Intelligence-Based Clinical Decision Support System to Predict Outcomes” (GAP0066), with Dr. Jai Ranjan, Assistant Professor, as Principal Investigator.

Opening Date: 24 June 2026. Closing Date (crucial for age limit and essential qualification): 15 July 2026. Date of Walk-in Interview: 17 July 2026, reporting time 9:00 AM, at the Board-room, Opposite Director’s Office, Medical College, AIIMS Bathinda.

Consolidated Fixed Salary: Rs. 30,800 per month (Rs. 28,000 + 10% HRA). Nature of Employment: Contractual, initially for one year, extendable upon satisfactory performance and PI’s recommendation until project completion.

Age Limit: 35 years on date of interview, with relaxation up to 5 years for Government servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Essential Qualifications: Graduate degree in Biotechnology/Biomedical/Life Sciences with 3 years’ post-qualification experience (BSc/BTech/BSc MLT), OR Postgraduate degree in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Biomedical Sciences/Life Sciences (MSc/MTech/MSc MLT). Distance education qualifications are not considered.

Desirable Experience: prior involvement in ICMR/DHR/CSIR/DBT projects, diagnostic research on infectious diseases/antimicrobial resistance, molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, sequencing), antimicrobial resistance studies on Klebsiella pneumoniae, and lab maintenance skills.

Job Description: assisting PI/Co-PI, phenotypic/molecular work, writing research articles, developing new research projects, and handling project documents.

Terms: no TA/DA, no permanent employment claim, selection via interview/written exam, and candidates must bring original documents along with a duly filled application form and photographs.
