IISER Pune is recruiting one Project Associate-I on a temporary contractual basis for a DBT-funded project in plant cell biology and regeneration research.

Position Details:

• Vacancies: 1
• Emoluments: ₹30,000/month + 30% HRA (for general candidates) or ₹37,000/month + 30% HRA (for candidates with valid CSIR-NET/GATE/DBT-JRF or any other national-level test conducted by Central Government Departments/Agencies)
• Tenure: Initially 1 year, extendable based on project continuation and satisfactory performance
• No right to permanent absorption at IISER Pune or the funding agency

Eligibility:

• Essential: M.Sc. or B.Tech in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Bioengineering with minimum 70% marks or equivalent grade (additional percentage cut-off may be applied during screening)
• Preferred: Prior experience in molecular biology and genetics techniques (mandatory); prior experience in microscopy and imaging, specifically confocal microscopy, is required

Job Role: The selected candidate will assist in ongoing experiments using Arabidopsis root tip regeneration as a model system for genetic screens, generate molecular cloning tools required for the project, and perform image analysis to quantify and analyse cell geometry.

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on the last date of application. Age relaxation may be considered for candidates with higher qualifications or experience, with prior approval of the competent authority.
