AIIMS Bhubaneswar is recruiting one Project Research Scientist-I on a contractual basis for a project focused on developing a novel diagnostic immunoassay for invasive candidiasis, a serious fungal infection particularly affecting patients with liver cirrhosis.

Project Details:

  • Project Title: “Development and validation of novel Candida Leucine aminopeptidase 2 based immunoassay for the diagnosis and prognosis of invasive candidiasis among patients with cirrhosis”
  • Principal Investigator: Dr. Vinaykumar Hallur, Additional Professor, Dept. of Microbiology, AIIMS Bhubaneswar
  • Job Location: Department of Microbiology (Mycology), AIIMS Bhubaneswar

Position Details:

  • Vacancies: 1
  • Emoluments: ₹66,080/month (consolidated)
  • Duration: 6 months, renewed every 11 months, extendable up to a maximum of 2 years
  • Purely contractual — no right to permanent employment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar

Eligibility:

  • Essential: Postgraduate degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences, Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Computational Biology and Integrative Sciences, or equivalent integrated PG degrees
  • Desirable: PhD in Mycology, Medical Microbiology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Gastroenterology, or Hepatology; publications/thesis/dissertation on diagnostic test development or evaluation

Job Role: Writing research papers, maintaining project accounts, performing DNA extraction, PCR, and any other work assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years. Appropriate relaxation for SC/ST/OBC, Ex-Servicemen, and ICMR re-entrenched staff as per prevailing rules.

Selection Process:

  • Shortlist displayed on institute website by 1 July 2026
  • Physical interview on 9 July 2026 at UG Practical Hall (Microbiology), 2nd Floor, Academic Block, AIIMS Bhubaneswar. A written test may also be conducted depending on candidate turnout
  • Candidates must bring hard copy of the filled application form, all original certificates, 2 passport-size photographs, and a set of photocopies at the time of interview
