Senior Resident (Non-Academic) – AIIMS Patna, Under Govt. of India Residency Scheme (Advt. No. F-148351/SR/Rect./2026-Phase I)

AIIMS Patna is recruiting 45 Senior Residents (Non-Academic) under the Government of India Residency Scheme for a tenure of three years across 17 departments.

Departments & Vacancies (Total: 45): Anaesthesiology (7), General Medicine (5), Radiation Oncology (4), Pathology/Lab Medicine (4), Clinical Haematology (3), General Surgery (3), Ophthalmology (3), Paediatrics (3), Orthopaedics (2), Emergency Medicine (2), Radio-diagnosis (2), Anatomy (2), Dermatology (1), Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (1), Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (1), Psychiatry (1), Transfusion Medicine & Blood Bank (1).

Reservation breakup: UR-8, OBC-12, SC-13, ST-11, EWS-1. 4% horizontal reservation for PwBD candidates. Note: 1 post in General Medicine is earmarked for PwBD.

Pay Scale: ₹67,700/month as per 7th CPC, Pay Level 11 + NPA + usual allowances.

Eligibility:

• Essential: MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch or equivalent PG degree in the relevant department, recognised by MCI/NMC/NBE
• For Clinical Haematology: MD in General Medicine or MD in Paediatrics also eligible
• PG students appearing in their final examination in July 2026 may also apply but must submit their passing certificate before the result declaration date
• Candidates who have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency (academic or non-academic) are NOT eligible

Age Limit: Maximum 45 years as on the last date of application. Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC – 3 years; PwBD – 10 years.

Application Fee:

• General/OBC: ₹1,500 + transaction charges
• SC/ST/EWS: ₹1,200 + transaction charges
• Ex-Servicemen/Women/PwBD: Exempt
• Fee is non-refundable and payable online only

• Written MCQ Exam: 2 August 2026 (Reporting: 10:30 AM; Exam: 11:00 AM–12:00 PM) at AIIMS Patna
• Interview qualified list: 4 August 2026
• Interviews: 5th, 6th & 7th August 2026 at Committee Hall, Admin Building, AIIMS Patna (report by 9:00 AM)

Selection Process: MCQ-based written test of 80 questions (1 mark each, no negative marking), followed by a personal interview of 20 marks. Final merit is based on combined score of 100 marks. Qualifying marks: UR – 50%, OBC-NCL/EWS – 45%, SC/ST – 40%. Top 3 times the advertised seats per category per speciality will be called for interview. Ties resolved by date of birth (older candidate ranked higher).
