Project Fellow – NISER Bhubaneswar (Advt. No. NISER/R&D/BL2604/16/2026-27)

National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, is recruiting one Project Fellow for a state-funded cancer biomarker research project in the School of Biological Sciences.

Project Details:

• Project Title: “Unlocking early diagnosis by discovery and screening of circulatory biomarkers from extracellular vesicles of gastric cancer patients with the goal to develop a robust risk-stratification model”
• Funding Agency: Science and Technology Department, Government of Odisha

Position Details:

• Vacancies: 1
• Emoluments: ₹30,000/month (consolidated)
• Tenure: 1 year, extendable based on satisfactory performance, co-terminus with the project
• No right to PhD degree registration or permanent absorption at NISER

Eligibility:

• Essential: M.Sc. with minimum 60% marks in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Zoology, Physiology, Bioinformatics, or equivalent bioscience streams
• Desirable: Qualifying score in any national-level exam; hands-on lab experience in mammalian cell culture, western blotting, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy, and H&E staining; familiarity with statistical software for data analysis; ability to maintain lab records and materials. Willingness to collect samples from local hospitals is a mandatory requirement for this post. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team are essential.

Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on 17 July 2026. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD as per rules.
