About the position The Faculty of Biosciences at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) invites applications for a full-time, permanent position as Associate Professor or Professor within functional genomics and cell biology. The successful candidate will strengthen and expand BIOVIT’s research in molecular and cell biology, with emphasis on gene-editing technologies and advanced in vitro animal model systems. You are expected to demonstrate strong collaborative skills and the ability to develop and lead research projects. You must have a proven track record of securing competitive external funding and be able to collaborate effectively with industry, academia, public authorities, and relevant organizations. You will contribute to teaching in molecular biology, cell biology, and genetics, including course development and delivery at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, as well as supervision of MSc and PhD students. The position also includes administrative responsibilities at the department, faculty, and university levels. The position At the Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries and Economics (BFE), the Norwegian College of Fishery Science (NCFS), UiT The Arctic University of Norway, there is a permanent position available as Senior Engineer / Chief Engineer in Microbial Bioinformatics. The position is affiliated with the Microalgae & Microbiomes Research Group (M2RG). The Norwegian College of Fishery Science currently has approximately 130 employees across scientific and technical/administrative positions. Research activities are organized around two main themes: marine resource management and marine biotechnology. This includes both basic research and applied research related to marine resources, seafood science, fish health, marine biotechnology, and marine bioprospecting. Research at NCFS is conducted in close collaboration with other research groups within the faculty and university, as well as with national and international partners. The Microalgae & Microbiomes Research Group (M2RG) focuses on understanding marine microalgae and microbial communities using multi-omics approaches, molecular ecology, and experimental systems. The group integrates genomics, microbiology, synthetic biology and bioinformatics to better understand microbial ecosystems and develop solutions related to sustainability, biotechnology, and carbon cycling. Your mission As (Senior) Technician Functional Assays* at Bio-LogX you will join our research team in our lab in Vienna and help us bring next generation drugs from the bench into the clinic. Your main responsibilities will be. Culture and maintain solid tumor cell lines (e.g., breast, pancreatic, lung, and melanoma models). Isolate, expand, and cryopreserve primary immune cells, including PBMCs, T cells, and NK cells. Plan and perform T- and NK-cell-mediated cytotoxicity assays to assess the efficacy of protein-based modalities. Tenure Track Researcher in Aquatic Animal Health and Welfare

We invite applicants to help us with our mission to survey and promote health and welfare of fish and shellfish, with special focus on sustainable aquaculture. Infectious diseases in farmed aquatic animals cause clinical illness, reduced growth and mortality. Disease is also classified as a direct cause of impaired welfare in fish, although the extent of this is not well described. There is a need to understand how and when infections with diseases affect farmed aquatic animals and to develop and validate protocols for assessing welfare in aquaculture, during different stages of production.  The current position addresses the interplay between fish health and welfare, using methodologies from fish disease research and welfare studies. One of the aims is to specifically explore how diseases in aquaculture animals affects the welfare of the animals. An important part of the position is to raise awareness on welfare in aquaculture animals. The position aligns with DTU Aquas strengthened focus on fish welfare and our responsibilities within teaching, research and advice. The position is partly under the European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare (eupahw.eu) At the Section for Fish and Shellfish Diseases, you can draw on the acquired competence from more than 30 years of research on fish diseases, and a large international network. The section is the National reference laboratory for fish, crustacean and mollusc diseases, and in addition EU reference laboratory for fish and crustacean diseases. Further, the section has a large project portfolio and currently employs 30 people with a background in molecular biology, immunology/vaccinology, diagnostics, virology, bacteriology, epidemiology and laboratory techniques. Responsibilities and qualificationsIn this role, you will work with aquatic animal diseases and examine in aquatic animals affect their welfare.  Your work will include developing protocols to measure the impact of disease on welfare, performing laboratory trials, and developing training materials and teaching activities. You will work with nearby colleagues, and with both academic and industrial partners in Denmark as well as internationally.The focus on both health and welfare demands experience with aquatic animal diseases, specifically infectious diseases in farmed fish, and understanding host-pathogen interactions in fish.  The candidate must have a proven experience in working with PCR-methods and other molecular methods. Research Manager position – Animal Behaviour

The Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior at its sites in Konstanz and Radolfzell offers an international, interdisciplinary, and collaborative environment that opens up unique research opportunities. The goal of our basic research is to develop a quantitative and predictive understanding of the decisions and movements of animals in their natural environment. The Department of Collective Behavior at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior would like to fill the following position as soon as possible and preferably before October 1, 2026. The workplace will be in Konstanz, Germany. Research Manager (m/f/d) 100 % Our group The Department of Collective Behavior, directed by Prof. Dr. Iain Couzin FRS, is an interdisciplinary research environment that combines experimental and theoretical approaches to uncover the principles of intelligence in nature. The department develops and applies advanced technologies, including virtual reality for animals, automated tracking, visual field reconstruction, biomimetic robotics, and computational and experimental neuroscience. The main study organisms are ants, locusts, and juvenile zebrafish. Your tasks The Research Manager will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, organization, documentation, and regulatory compliance in a small zebrafish holding facility, and invertebrate holding. This includes oversight of permits, support with permit applications, communication with authorities, maintenance of documentation systems, budget management, and oversight of purchases related to animal holding and facility operations. The role also involves coordination between Prof. Couzin, technical assistants, animal caretakers, researchers, facility management, animal welfare officers, and veterinary authorities. Additional Responsibilities Coordinate and/or deliver facility safety briefings, including annual refresher training Support import and export processes for animal species Advise department members on permits, Nagoya Protocol requirements, and fieldwork preparation Support documentation for temporary export of facility equipment Coordinate tasks of technicians and animal caretakers Support quality management, occupational safety, and infection control Serve as a key liaison between researchers and regulatory and veterinary authorities, including at the MPI-AB and University of Konstanz.
