Technical Assistant position in the greenhouse and laboratory

A part-time position (50% of regular weekly working hours) is available. The position is limited until September 30, 2028.

Your responsibilities
include: independently organizing work in the greenhouse and laboratory, and ordering materials for the greenhouse and laboratories for the entire department.
• Comprehensive and independent management and organization of greenhouse and climate chamber experiments, including precision phenotyping
• Molecular analyses (e.g., DNA, RNA extraction, amplicon sequencing, genotyping, gene expression analyses)
• Independent data collection from greenhouse experiments and laboratory tests using appropriate computer software
• Support of the IT infrastructure (e.g., ordering hardware and software, setting up and maintaining computers, website maintenance)
 
 
Your profile
• Successfully completed training as a technical assistant or comparable qualification and relevant experience in the methods used (see below)
•    Professional experience in laboratory and greenhouse work
• Experience in molecular analyses (e.g., DNA, RNA extraction, PCR, amplicon sequencing)
• Experience in establishing and managing greenhouse experiments
•    Proficient use of MS Office programs and willingness to learn specific software programs for ordering, data collection, analysis, and documentation
• Independent, structured, and goal-oriented work style
• IT skills
•    Teamwork skills
•    English skills are a plus Advantage
•    Class 3 driver’s license.
