Research Associate-I – IISER Tirupati (Advt. No. 49/2026)

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, an autonomous institution of national importance under the Ministry of Education, is recruiting one Research Associate-I on a contract basis for a project in the field of Ecology and Evolution.

Project Details:

• Research Area: Ecology and Evolution

Fellowship:

• ₹58,000/month + 9% HRA — for candidates with a PhD degree certificate in hand
• ₹42,000/month + 9% HRA — for candidates whose PhD is awarded but certificate is awaited (must provide a letter from a competent authority confirming thesis submission and pending viva/defense)
• A nominal research grant will also be available

Eligibility:

• Essential: PhD in any area of Life Sciences (candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the degree may also apply)
• Candidates must provide evidence of high-quality research conducted during or after their PhD
• Desirable: Experience in bird research, bioacoustics-based research, and conservation genomics; ability to work in a team with UG, Masters, and PhD students

Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 2 July 2026.

Tenure: Initial offer for 4 months; co-terminus with the project. No right to permanent absorption at IISER Tirupati.
