Project Technical Support-III position under the project Identification of oral cancer biomarkers from saliva for the diagnosis of early stages of oral cancer

Position Summary

ICMR-National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), Jodhpur, has issued a Notification for Walk-in-Interview/Written Test for a temporary Project Human Resource position under the project “Identification of oral cancer biomarkers from saliva for the diagnosis of early stages of oral cancer.”

Position: Project Technical Support-III

Vacancies: 2 positions (1 OBC, 1 SC).

Essential Qualifications: A Graduate degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Biomedical Sciences/Genetics with 3 years of post-qualification experience, OR a Post Graduate Degree in the same disciplines.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience in molecular biology and biotechnology techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, PCR/qPCR, gel electrophoresis); protein analysis and biomarker research techniques (ELISA, Western blotting); handling/processing human biological samples, particularly saliva and clinical specimens; and knowledge of oral cancer biology, biomarker discovery, or translational research.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years on the date of the walk-in interview/written test.

Remuneration: Rs. 28,000/- + HRA per month (consolidated).

Tenure: Initially up to one year, extendable up to project completion; the position is terminable at any point in time.

Place of Work: ICMR-NIHR, Jodhpur, or anywhere in India as per project requirements.

Selection Process: If more than 30 candidates apply, a written test will be conducted (qualifying marks: 35% for SC/ST, 40% for UR/OBC/EWS), followed by interviews for shortlisted candidates (generally top 8 for this position). Final merit is based on written test and interview marks, or interview alone if fewer than 30 candidates.

Key Terms and Conditions: Purely temporary with no claim to regular ICMR appointment. Candidates with over 3 years of prior ICMR project service are ineligible. Employed candidates must submit an NOC. Selected candidates must serve at least one month; engagement can be terminated by either party with one month’s notice. No TA/DA, PF, LTC, or medical benefits provided. Electronic gadgets are prohibited during the interview/exam.
