Position Summary
The Department of Livestock Products Technology (Meat Science), Madras Veterinary College, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), Chennai, has announced a Walk-in Interview for one temporary position of Project Assistant under the Chief Minister’s Research Grant (CMRG) funded project “Sustainable Nutritional Management of Community Dogs Through Budget-Friendly Balanced Pet Food Derived From Slaughterhouse Waste.”
Vacancy: 1 post, purely time-bound/non-regular/temporary/contractual, co-terminus with the project.
Duration: Initial engagement of 12 months, extendable for one more year based on organizational need and performance, with a maximum duration not exceeding two years.
Essential Qualifications: Graduate in Veterinary Sciences, Food Technology, Poultry Technology, B.Sc. Food and Nutrition (4-year course), B.Sc. Food, Nutrition and Dietetics (4-year course), B.Tech. (Biotechnology), or related disciplines from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications: Postgraduate degree in Veterinary Sciences, Food Technology, Poultry Technology, Biotechnology, Food Science and Nutrition (M.Sc. following a 3-year B.Sc. programme), or related discipline; knowledge of waste disposal, slaughterhouse by-product utilization, product development, and nutritional/sensory quality evaluation.
Remuneration: Rs. 25,000/- per month (consolidated), with no HRA.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years, maximum 45 years (young professional category), with relaxation as per rules.
Interview Date: 22.06.2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Department of Livestock Products Technology (Meat Science), Madras Veterinary College, Chennai (revised from the originally notified 12.06.2026 via corrigendum). Candidates must arrive at least 30 minutes early; no entry after 10:30 A.M.

Key Terms and Conditions: Purely temporary with no claim to regular TANUVAS appointment. Candidates must serve at least one year; employed candidates must submit NOC. All candidates will be screened/shortlisted, with a written test possibly conducted before the interview. The Dean’s decision is final. No TA/DA paid. Canvassing leads to disqualification.
