Salary

• Rs. 31,000/- + 16% HRA (with CSIR/UGC NET, including lectureship, or GATE and a selection process through national-level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions)
• Rs. 25,000/- + 16% HRA (if NET not cleared). If the Project Associate-I clears the NET during their tenure, they will be eligible for the Rs. 31,000/- + 16% HRA emoluments after producing the required certificate.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum OCPA 6.0/10 or 60% marks in any relevant branch of life science from a recognized University.
• M.V.Sc. in Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Biochemistry, Animal Genetics and Breeding or M.Sc. in Biotechnology or any relevant branch of life sciences (with research work) with minimum OCPA 6.5/10 or 65% marks in any relevant branch of life science from a recognized University or equivalent.
• NET/GATE is not mandatory.
• Knowledge of Punjabi up to the matric level is preferred; however, this is relaxed if no candidate with knowledge of Punjabi is available.

Requirements

• Preference will be given to candidates with M.V.Sc. in Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Biochemistry, Animal Genetics and Breeding, or M.Sc. in Animal Biotechnology/Biotechnology, having work experience in Genomics, Transcriptomics, Bioinformatics, and/or experience in handling experiments in animals.

Job Responsibilities

• Research duties according to the project’s objectives, including dog experiments, monitoring of housing, feeding, and data recording of dogs in the kennel/dog breeders/dog owners, collection of samples, and preparation of project reports.
• Candidates can be assigned responsibilities for other ongoing lab work by the PI.
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the PI from time to time.
