The opportunity: We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence to join a leading paediatric cancer research program at MCRI on a 12-month contract. The role focuses on integrating large-scale genomic and clinical datasets to develop machine learning models that predict adverse drug reactions and disease trajectories. You will work across multidisciplinary teams spanning cancer biology, pharmacogenomics, and computational science. This position offers strong opportunities for publications, international collaboration, and contribution to major precision medicine initiatives.   This position offers the opportunity to contribute to national infrastructure in pharmacogenomics and to engage in international collaborations with partners such as EMBL-EBI. To support this international engagement, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake placements at EMBL-EBI, UK, providing dedicated time to develop collaborative research relationships and build expertise in EBI’s genomic data infrastructure and resources. The successful applicant will work under the guidance of the Group Leader / Clinician-Scientist Fellow and a network of senior investigators in bioinformatics and clinical genomics. The position focuses on conducting high-quality research into chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetic kidney disease (DKD), with an emphasis on the development and evaluation of novel therapeutic strategies and investigation of disease mechanisms relevant to renal fibrosis and the gut-kidney axis. Research in our group focuses on how genome-level processes (e.g. gene duplication, horizontal gene transfer, introgression) and natural selection have shaped the morphological, molecular, and phylogenetic diversity of plants. Ongoing projects include the evolution of floral scent in Onagraceae, the evolution of sexual systems in Schiedea (Caryophyllaceae), and the origin and genomic basis of heterotrophy in liverworts. Generally, all projects in the group address two common questions: What are the genomic signatures that coincide with the origin of fundamental life history traits, and what is the relationship between these processes/traits and diversification? To address these questions, we use a diversity of approaches, all with a heavy emphasis on using both gene and species phylogenies. We are currently offering a postdoctoral position for up to six years. This position is not funded by a third-party project and therefore allows the successful candidate to develop their own projects within the scientific framework of the Plant Phylogenomics Group or related areas. Of course, collaborating on and lending expertise to existing projects is also expected. PhD fellowship in Food Engineering

The project Dairy powders are essential ingredients in infant nutrition, sports nutrition, medical foods and a wide range of consumer products. Their success depends not only on nutritional quality but also on how rapidly and completely they reconstitute in water. There is still a lack of understanding on kinetics and mechanisms of reconstitution. The aim of the PhD is to identify the mechanisms that govern dairy powder reconstitution across multiple length scales, from powder beds and individual particles to molecular hydration. The student will develop experimental methodologies and combine these with state-of-the-art characterization techniques, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), optical microscopy, particle characterization and surface analysis. By integrating experimental observations across a diverse library of dairy powders, the project will establish relationships between powder composition, microstructure and instant functionality, ultimately providing new strategies for designing dairy powders with faster, more reliable and more robust reconstitution performance. Postdoctoral position in glacial microbial ecology

The Department of Environmental Science at Aarhus University, Roskilde, Denmark, welcomes applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in glacial microbial ecology with a focus on the role of glacial and snow algae on the darkening of the Greenland ice sheet. Expected start date and duration of employment 1st of September 2026. This is a two-year fixed-term position to end 24 months after the start date.  Job description This opportunity is positioned at the heart of a collaboration between Aarhus University, EPFL and DTU to understand microbiological mechanisms underpinning the Greenland Ice Sheet darkening, and relate them to ice melt at large spatial scales using remote sensing. The postdoc in this project will be the main responsible for the acquisition of data related to snow and ice algae diversity, biomass, growth, and photophysiology on various locations on Greenland ice sheet.
