PhD position in Neuroscience – Cellular Brain Models of Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Work duties and areas of responsibility As a PhD student in the doctoral program visi-on-brain in our research group, you are responsible for designing and producing data, analyzing the results and reporting on scientific projects (in writing and orally) – in collaboration with the research group leader and members of the group. The project will focus on the experimental characterization of two-dimensional self-assemblies of AI-designed proteins. These protein architectures are envisioned as programmable nanoscale platforms for sustainable biofabrication and semiconductor-related applications.Using cryo-electron microscopy you will visualize whether the designed proteins assemble into the intended ordered 2D structures. A central part of the project will be to develop spectroscopic assays to follow assembly formation, probe stability, and detect interactions between protein components. These assays will be adapted for high-throughput screening, enabling many protein designs and assembly conditions to be evaluated efficiently.You will also explore how non-native metal-binding groups can be introduced into proteins through genetic code expansion strategies to place metals in specific patterns on a protein scaffold. Together this will open opportunities to tune protein materials for interactions with inorganic and semiconductor components.By connecting molecular design with advanced imaging, spectroscopy, and screening, the project aims to create new routes toward sustainable nanotechnology.The PhD project is part of an interdisciplinary collaboration between de novo protein designers, biophysical chemists, biochemists and semiconductor physicists. Work duties You will primarily devote yourself to your doctoral programme, which includes participation in research projects as well as third cycle courses, seminars and conferences. You will be responsible for production and experimental characterization of self-assembling de novo designed proteins, but will also be involved in selection of promising constructs and are expected to contribute to the overall design strategy. You will work in close collaboration with computational protein designers to establish a proficient feedback loop between experimental results and design strategy. Position: This position is open for a PhD candidate (starting or ongoing) under the supervision of Mgr. Markéta Pernisová, Ph.D., as part of the TowArds Next GENeration Crops (TANGENC) project, which focuses on novel breeding techniques for crop improvement. The research will primarily investigate the hormonal regulation of plant in vitro regeneration and shoot development. Postdoctoral Researcher in Genetic Data Analysis

This postdoctoral project is part of the National Research GenoMorph project led by Dr. Clément Zanolli. The work will be carried out entirely at the PACEA Laboratory (UMR 5199) of the University of Bordeaux, within the EVODIBIO team. The researcher will benefit from a suitable working environment, will have access to a dedicated workstation for their work, and will be able to exchange ideas and collaborate with specialists from various disciplines, including (paleo)genetics, paleoanthropology, and archaeology. Votre mission The research work will consist of analyzing the DNA of several hundred humans for whom CBCT scans of their teeth are available. The postdoctoral researcher will therefore be responsible for genetic analysis (including selection, sorting, and elaboration of a genetic database) and will collaborate with other researchers involved in this project to combine molecular and morphometric data. The main tasks will consist of:  processing and analyzing genetic data from hundreds of individuals who volunteered to participate in the GenoMorph project. Identifying candidate genes related to dental morphology and structure methodological development for the combined analysis of genetic and morphometric data genotype inferences based on the phenotype of specimens from the paleoanthropological record processing and analysis of data from scans (optional : Depending on the experience and skills of the person recruited, they may be required to process and analyse 3D data from scans.)
