Scientific Associate position in Immunology – Laboratory Management

About Us Faculty VI Medicine and Health Sciences encompasses the fields of human medicine, medical physics and acoustics, neuroscience, psychology, and health services research. Together with the four regional hospitals, Faculty VI forms the University Medical Center Oldenburg. Furthermore, there is close cooperation with the University Medical Center of the University of Groningen. Your tasks As Head of the Immunology Laboratory, you will conceptualize the immunological, cell, and molecular biological research projects of the working group. Within this interdisciplinary research unit, which is involved in various collaborative projects, you will be responsible for establishing new research directions, performing administrative tasks, and coordinating the entire working group. You will significantly advance the expansion of the innovative methodological spectrum (including the development of organoids and artificial organs, (single-cell) RNA sequencing, and immunophenotyping using spectral cytometry). You will acquire internal and external funding for future innovative research projects. You will present your research findings at national and international conferences and publish them in recognized scientific journals. In addition to your scientific duties, you will participate in teaching immunology. Your profile Hiring requirements: Completed university degree (Diploma (Uni) / Master) in biology, molecular medicine, biochemistry or a comparable field in the life sciences and a relevant doctorate Good German skills, both spoken and written. Good English skills Knowledge of immunobiological, cell and molecular biological methods Experience with primary cell cultures, flow cytometry, imaging, and the establishment of organoids.
