Animal caretaker position (research and clinic)

The Central Animal Laboratories (ZTL) are an interdisciplinary facility of the university where vertebrates (primarily small rodents) are bred and kept for research purposes in accordance with all animal welfare requirements and international scientific standards. Within the framework of the Collaborative Research Centre Transregio 221, germ-free mice (gnotobiotes) are among the subjects cared for by the staff.

Your tasks:

• Breeding and keeping of laboratory animals (especially small rodents) under barrier conditions
• Assistance with health checks and hygiene measures
• Working with large equipment (autoclaves, washing machines), logistics
• Cleaning and disinfection work

Your profile:

• Completed vocational training
• Responsible handling of the animals and the associated equipment
• Meticulous work ethic, excellent teamwork skills, willingness to work weekends and holidays, very good German skills, English skills are an advantage
