Young Professional-II for the project entitled “Popularize Biointensive Farming in Eastern Uttar Pradesh through Synergy of Sun-Planet-Satellite Model in Technology Transfer Ecosystem”

Position Summary

The Department of Extension Education, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, invites applications for one Young Professional-II (YP-II) position in a research project titled “Popularize Biointensive Farming in Eastern Uttar Pradesh through Synergy of Sun-Planet-Satellite Model in Technology Transfer Ecosystem.” The project is funded by the Uttar Pradesh Council of Agricultural Research (UPCAR), Lucknow, for a period of two years. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

The emolument is ₹42,000 per month (consolidated). The age limit is a minimum of 21 years and maximum of 45 years on the date of interview, with relaxation of 5 years for female/SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for Divyang (PwD) candidates as per government rules.

The essential qualification is an M.Sc. (Ag) degree in Extension Education, Agricultural Extension, or Horticulture, with a four-year Bachelor’s degree. Desired qualifications include experience in field work, basic computer knowledge, and a valid driving licence.

YP-II will initially be appointed for one year, extendable based on performance. Selected candidates must produce all original documents and a medical fitness certificate at the time of joining, and will have no claim to regular appointment or absorption. No TA/DA is paid for the interview or joining; canvassing leads to disqualification. The PI is Dr. Shubhadeep Roy (Associate Professor). All legal disputes fall under Varanasi jurisdiction.
