Position Summary

The Department of Plant Science, School of Biological Sciences, Central University of Kerala (Kasaragod), invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in an ANRF-ARG funded project titled “Understanding ER stress-induced programmed cell death pathway and its role in stress responses of plants” (Ref. No. CUK/PLS/PKK/ARG2025/HR-01). The Principal Investigator is Dr. Pramod Kandoth, Associate Professor, Department of Plant Sciences.

The post is purely temporary, initially for one year, extendable till the completion of the project based on the selected candidate’s performance. The tenure is three years or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier. The fellowship is ₹37,000 + HRA per month for the first two years, increasing to ₹42,000 + HRA per month in the third year.

The essential qualification is an M.Sc. in Plant Science, Botany, Genomics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Molecular Biology, with CSIR-UGC-NET/GATE qualification. Desirable: experience in bioinformatics analyses and molecular biology techniques will be given preference.

The eligibility criteria require a Master’s degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (55% for OBC/ST/SC). The upper age limit is below 28 years as on the last date of application, with age relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. Applicants must carry all original certificates at the interview/time of joining, and no TA will be paid.
