Junior Research Fellowship position for a project titled- “Exploring the native isolates of entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) for the development of potential myco-insecticide”

Position Summary

The Department of Entomology & Agricultural Zoology, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in a U.P. Council of Agricultural Research (UPCAR)-sponsored research project titled “Exploring the native isolates of entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) for the development of potential myco-insecticide.” The project is sanctioned for up to three years, and the post is temporary and co-terminus with the project.

The fellowship is a fixed ₹30,000 per month. The upper age limit is 28 years, relaxable by five years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates; all things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GoI rules.

The essential qualification is an M.Sc. in Agricultural Entomology, Zoology, Plant Pathology, or Biotechnology with a minimum of 55% marks. Desirable qualifications include prior hands-on experience in insect culturing, EPF isolation, media preparation, data collection, data analysis, and various molecular techniques.
