Research Associate position in Ruminant Nutrition

A part-time position (65% of regular weekly working hours) is available. The position is limited to a term of 36 months.

Employment is within the framework of the BMLEH-funded collaborative project Emma², which focuses on efficiency and methane reduction in dairy farming.

Your tasks

  • Supervision and execution of in vitro rumen fermentation studies on an experimental farm
  • Conducting and coordinating sample analyses (e.g., nutrient analyses), scientific analyses on the efficiency of dairy cows, statistical evaluation of the data
  • Assisting with the processing of project requests, communication with project partners
  • Contributing to project reports and scientific publications

 Your profile

  • A very good completed Master’s degree in agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine or related fields.
  • Prior knowledge of issues related to ruminant nutrition and rumen fermentation/enteric methane emissions is required.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and German skills
  • Statistical knowledge, ideally with R
  • Desirable: Prior knowledge of academic writing
  • Willingness to travel within Germany
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of teamwork

 This position is intended to support the qualification of early-career researchers and offers the opportunity to pursue a doctorate.
