Recruitment for Assistant Professor of Agronomy and Agricultural Botany

Position Summary

Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Government College of Agriculture (PAH), Halgaon, Tal. Jamkhed, Dist. Ahilyanagar (under Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, Government of Maharashtra), has issued a Notification inviting applications for multiple Assistant Professor posts on a purely temporary and contractual basis for day-to-day college work, for a duration of eleven months.

Vacancies (7 posts total): Assistant Professor of Agril. Entomology (1), Assistant Professor of Agril. Economics (1), Assistant Professor of Agril. Engineering (1), Assistant Professor of Agronomy (2), Assistant Professor of Agril. Botany (1), Assistant Professor of AHDS (1), and Assistant Professor of Agril. Extension (1).

Pay: Fixed pay of Rs. 45,000/- per month for candidates with Ph.D./Master’s degree along with NET/SLET/SET (as prescribed by UGC/ICAR, where applicable); candidates with a Master’s degree without NET/SLET/SET may also apply, with remuneration reduced to Rs. 25,000/- per month.

Nature of Work: Conducting academic programmes as directed by the university, serving as counselor/monitor/rector, working on examination/admission/cultural/sports cells, and performing other duties assigned by the Associate Dean.

Application Process: Candidates must apply on plain paper using the enclosed proforma to the Associate Dean, PAH Govt. College of Agriculture, Halgaon, on or before 25.06.2026, along with a processing fee of Rs. 500/- paid online to the “Comptroller, MPKV, Rahuri” account, with the receipt attached.

Key Terms and Conditions: The appointment is purely temporary for up to 11 months or until the post is filled on regular establishment, whichever is earlier, and automatically terminates upon joining of a regular candidate. Candidates must submit an undertaking on a Rs. 500/- bond paper accepting all terms. Selected candidates must work full-time and cannot accept other appointments during the contract; they may resign only with one month’s prior notice or by paying one month’s fixed pay. Candidates must prepare a 10-minute PPT presentation for the interview, attend at their own cost, and produce original documents, failing which candidature will be rejected. The appointment carries no right to permanency.
