Junior Research Fellow under the project Transcriptomics intervention and elucidation of transcription factors associated with spine formation in makhana (Euryale ferox Salisb)

Position Summary

The Directorate of Research, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, has announced a Walk-in Interview for the engagement of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF), purely on a contractual, time-bound, and temporary basis, under the project “Transcriptomics intervention and elucidation of transcription factors associated with spine formation in makhana (Euryale ferox Salisb.),” funded by ANRF PM-ECRG, Government of India.

Vacancy: 1 post (Unreserved category).

Emoluments: Rs. 37,000/- per month plus HRA (as admissible), co-terminus with the project.

Interview Date: Tentatively scheduled for 01.07.2026 at 10:00 AM. Candidates will not be allowed for document verification after 10:00 AM, and are advised to report at least 1 hour prior to the scheduled time.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology & Genetic Engineering, or Bioinformatics.

Desirable Qualifications: Qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR NET or GATE, and two years of research experience in the concerned discipline.

Key Terms and Conditions: The selected candidate must work full-time on the project for at least 6 months from the date of joining, on a contractual/term basis, with possible further extension depending on satisfactory performance. The service will automatically stand terminated without notice upon expiry of the project, and the candidate has no legal right to further absorption or re-engagement. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project duration. All other rules and regulations will be as per university guidelines. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
