The Institute of Veterinary Physiology is dedicated to research and teaching on the identification and description of life processes in animal species relevant to veterinary medicine. Research focuses particularly on the molecular basis of epithelial transport and the epithelial barrier (with a focus on the gastrointestinal tract) as well as metabolism in farm animals.

Responsibilities:
– Planning, conducting, and statistically evaluating experiments on cell models and epithelial preparations to address physiological questions, with the aim of developing or continuing a doctoral thesis.
– Participation in teaching, laboratory work, and animal husbandry.
– Writing and contributing to research proposals and scientific publications.
– This activity serves the individual’s own scientific qualification (doctoral studies).
Requirements for employment:
Completed academic university degree in veterinary medicine and license to practice as a veterinarian.
Desired qualifications:
– In-depth knowledge of biochemical, molecular biological, cell and epithelial physiological methods
– Interest in independent scientific work within a performance-oriented team
– Personal commitment to and willingness to engage in internal, national and international collaborations
– Excellent English skills
– Computer skills
