Your tasks

Scientific coordination tasks (38%)

  • Conceptual development, coordination and organization of research projects for various funding bodies
  • professional support for projects to strengthen interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research
  • Project management and communication with scientific partners and funding providers
  • Building and maintaining networks within Bielefeld University and with external partners
  • Developing synergies between project partners in different research projects 

Other tasks (including tasks in academic self-governance) (12%)

  • Assistance with ordering and procuring laboratory equipment and materials
  • Travel expense management and budget planning
  • Module planning and organization
     

Research (25%)

  • Conducting and interpreting experiments on human and murine primary cells, cell lines and stem cells, as well as animal experiments
  • Processing and analysis of biological samples

Teaching (25% – 4 hours per week for full-time employment)

  • Conducting courses including preparation, as well as preparing, conducting and evaluating examinations.

The employment is conducive to scientific qualification; the opportunity for scientific (further) qualification is provided.

Your profile

That’s what we expect

  • Completed university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular medicine, food chemistry or another suitable natural science subject
  • Experience in handling research projects
  • Openness to interdisciplinary tasks at the interface between science, organization and administration
  • very good organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills as well as an independent, structured and results-oriented work style.
  • Teamwork and social skills
  • Good written and spoken English skills as well as good written and spoken German skills for teaching in German
  • Gender and diversity competence
