Position Summary

The Division of Genetics, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi-110012, has invited applications for an online interview under the DBT-funded project “Genomics-assisted breeding for development of Dry-DSR ready Basmati rice varieties,” for posts at the Division of Genetics and Division of Plant Physiology, IARI. The posts are purely on a contractual basis.

The position is Research Associate (RA), with One post available. The emoluments are Rs. 58,000/- (fixed per month) plus 27% HRA. Essential qualification is a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Life Sciences, OR 3 years of research, teaching, and design and development experience after M.Tech (Life Sciences), with at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal, as per DST Office Memorandum No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022, dated 26-07-2023. Desirable qualifications include experience in molecular markers, marker-assisted breeding, field phenotyping, and handling of field rice crop.

The maximum age limit for RA is 40 years (with relevant age relaxations as applicable). The post is purely temporary, initially filled on contract basis up to 31-03-2027, extendable periodically subject to performance till termination of the project. The selected candidate cannot claim regular appointment, as the post is co-terminus with the project.
