Project Assistant – CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru (GAP-676)

CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysuru is recruiting one Project Assistant on a temporary contractual basis for a project titled “Uncovering molecular regulators of non-conjugative plasmid transfer driving antimicrobial resistance dissemination” (Project No. GAP-676). The project focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms behind how antimicrobial resistance spreads through bacteria — a critical area of research given the global threat of antibiotic resistance.

Position Details:

• Stipend: ₹27,000/month + HRA (as per ANRF guidelines)
• Duration: Up to March 2027, extendable by up to 2 more years subject to project requirement and fund availability
• Location: CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, Karnataka

Eligibility:

• Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or Biochemistry from a recognised university
• Desirable: MSc in any of the above disciplines; hands-on experience in molecular techniques, cloning, and protein purification

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on 5 July 2026. Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Important Conditions:

• Candidates must have completed their degree with declared results — those awaiting results are not eligible
• Candidates who have already served as Project Staff across CSIR labs for a cumulative 6 years are not eligible
• The engagement carries no right to permanent employment or degree registration at CSIR-CFTRI
• Performance will be reviewed periodically and the engagement can be terminated without notice
