The Georg-August-University Göttingen Foundation under Public Law – DNTW – Department of Animal Nutritional Physiology is seeking to fill a position as soon as possible.

Research Associate – PhD Position (m/f/d)
– Salary Group 13 TV-L –

A part-time position (65% of regular weekly working hours) is available. The position is limited to a three-year term.

Employment is within the framework of the Agri:change project, which explores the possibilities of feeding pigs with by-products from food production, with a focus on brewer’s spent grain.
 
The department’s research focus is on improving global food security, resource conservation, environmental protection, animal welfare, and the health of humans and animals by improving the nutritional supply of farm animals. The department’s primary target species are poultry and pigs.

Your tasks

  • Organization and execution of feeding trials with pigs within the framework of the project
  • Comprehensive evaluation of the literature
  • Coordination with project partners
  • Data analysis and interpretation of results
  • Publication and presentation of research results (national and international)
  • Participation in events of the Graduate Academy to obtain a doctorate 

Your profile

  • Above-average Master’s degree, preferably in agricultural sciences or related fields.
  • Sufficient German language skills for communication with German-speaking project participants
  • Interest in assessing the nutrient supply of pigs
  • Willingness to engage in scientific work with animals
  • Willingness to work in a team, strong communication skills and flexibility
  • Will to pursue a doctorate
