Position Summary

The National Institute of Technology, Agartala (Tripura) invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (Advt. Ref. F.NITA.20 (670-ECE)/2025-26/IRG-ANRF Project/MBS/JRF). The post is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, under the project titled “Functional Nanohybrids for Breath Acetone Detection: A Non-Invasive Tool for Diabetes Diagnosis.”

The fellowship offers a monthly emolument of ₹37,000 plus 10% HRA. The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, which runs for three years (3rd June 2026 to 2nd June 2029).

Eligibility requires a Postgraduate degree in Basic Science, or a Graduate/Postgraduate qualification in a Professional Course, with selection through a national-level process — either CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship) and GATE, or national-level examinations conducted by central government agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, or IISER (as per DST OM no. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022).

The interview is tentatively scheduled for 6 July 2026 in hybrid (online/offline) mode; no TA/DA will be provided, and only shortlisted candidates will be notified by email. Importantly, the selected fellow will have the option to register for a PhD in the ECE Department at NIT Agartala, subject to meeting the institute’s PhD Rules 2018 eligibility criteria.
