At the Faculty of Medicine, you will have the opportunity to establish an independent and internationally competitive research programme within the newly formed Division of Immuno-Oncology, as part of the coordinated Lund University–Region Skåne strategic immunotherapy initiative. The division is structured around systems immunology, immune cell engineering, and fundamental tumour immunology, providing a multidisciplinary environment that integrates technology development with fundamental discovery. The position supports scientific risk-taking and the development of innovative research directions, not only in immuno-oncology and its translation into clinically relevant applications, but also at the interface with Lund’s strong stem cell research community, including the Lund Stem Cell Center and the LU-ATMP Center, leveraging advanced core facilities for flow cytometry, gene therapy, and cell engineering and manufacturing. You are expected to develop a research program in immune cell engineering, contributing to innovative strategies to program and manipulate immune cells for translational medicine. The research may include, but is not limited to: Engineering of T cells, dendritic cells, or myeloid cells Development of next-generation cell and gene therapies (e.g. CAR-T, CAR-NK, engineered antigen-presenting cells, CRISPR-based editing) In vivo immune cell programming and synthetic regulatory circuits High-throughput transcription factor/CRISPR screens in immune cells Modulation of immune cell plasticity within the tumour microenvironment Development of viral and non-viral delivery systems for in situ immune modulation You are expected to collaborate with experimental and computational research groups within the division and across Lund University. Section of Oncology, RNA Therapeutics in Cancer Anders Wittrup research group (RNA Therapeutics in Cancer), is located on the Gunnar Nilsson floor of Kamprad House, in close proximity to the Oncology Clinic at Skåne University Hospital (SUS) in Lund. The tasks include developing, training, and validating deep learning–based models for event detection and vesicle tracking, and integrating these models into automated analysis and imaging workflows. The work also involves managing and quantitatively analyzing large-scale image datasets, method development in close collaboration with supervisors and research collaborators, and biological interpretation of results. In addition, the position includes documentation, presentation of results, and contributing to the writing of scientific publications. Qualifications Requirements for the Position A Master’s degree or equivalent in bioinformatics, engineering physics, mathematics, applied mathematics, computer science, biomedicine, biotechnology, or another relevant field. Documented experience in programming or quantitative data analysis, for example in Python, MATLAB, or similar environments. A strong interest in method development at the interface between biology and artificial intelligence. Strong collaborative skills, analytical ability, and the capacity to work independently. Merits: Education or training in computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, bioinformatics, advanced microscopy, cell biology, or RNA biology. Education in mathematical statistics. Experience in deep learning, computer vision, or neural network development. Experience with live-cell microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, or analysis of 3D/4D image data. Successfully migrating between remote areas is a delicate process where birds must navigate a series of novel environments, and carefully time their journeys based on both environmental and internal cues. So, it’s no surprise that migration is a perilous time, when birds are particularly exposed to disruptions of different kinds. In this project you will use data from the European weather radar network to investigate how different disruptors can affect large scale flows of nocturnal migrants. The overall goal is to test if potential disruptors have detectable effects on the flow of nocturnal migration. The results will answer important fundamental questions about how robust animal migration is to different types of disruptors, enabling us to better understand the evolutionary pressures that have shaped animal migration, and how these pressures will interact with our changing world in the future. Allmän studieplan för forskarutbildning Work duties You will primarily devote yourself to your doctoral education, which mainly consists of writing a doctoral thesis. During the training you will learn to analyse large amounts biological data extracted from weather radar data, advanced analysis methods and to write scientific papers. You are expected to actively participate in the ongoing research projects in the lab group and to plan and carry out your own analyses of large-scale bird migration patterns. As a researcher, you will also present your research by participating in seminars and international conferences. The doctoral training also includes a number of mandatory courses and voluntary special courses that contribute to your development in solving and presenting scientific questions. In addition to studies, a maximum of 20% of working time may be spent on teaching and other departmental work. Postdoctoral fellow position in Environmental Science: Quantifying Pollinator Shifts and Landscape Resilience

Subject description This postdoc position is part of the Horizon Europe project VALOR (“Values and dependence of society on pollinators”), in which 16 partner institutes collaborate to investigate the impacts of land-use and climate change on pollinator biodiversity, ecosystem services, agricultural systems, and socio-economic resilience across Europe. The successful candidate will integrate outputs from ecological, economic, and scenario modelling to forecast changes in pollinator biodiversity, pollination services, land-use profitability, value chains, and health outcomes. Work duties The main duties involved in a post-doctoral posistion is to conduct research. Teaching may also be included, but no more than 20% of working hours. The position includes the opportunity for three weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning. Specifically you will apply and to some extent develop methods to: Forecast multivariate pollinator biodiversity under land-use and climate change scenarios. Quantify impacts on crop pollination services and wild plant reproduction. Assess resilience of pollinators and farming under future pressures. Upscale impacts to trade, value chains, and health outcomes. Conduct sensitivity and uncertainty analyses to identify critical risks and knowledge gaps. Postdoctoral fellow position in urological cancers

Description of the workplace The research group Division of Urological Cancers, Department of Translational Medicine, conducts patient-oriented prostate cancer studies within a local multidisciplinary network and in collaboration with international partners. The group develops and evaluates new treatments for advanced prostate cancer and investigates novel biomarkers for prognostic assessment and for individualizing treatment in relation to the natural course of the disease. Our long-term goal is to reduce morbidity and mortality from prostate cancer. The group consists of senior researchers, an associate researcher, a postdoctoral researcher, research engineers, and a laboratory assistant. We are now recruiting a postdoctoral research fellow for the project “Biomarkers and novel treatment strategies for prostate cancer with a focus on immune cells in tumor tissue and circulation.” In addition, the candidate will also be involved in other ongoing research projects within the group. Project description The overall aim of the project is to identify novel prognostic and predictive blood‑based biomarkers in prostate cancer. To achieve this, we will perform high‑dimensional immunophenotyping and quantify STAT3 expression in circulating immune cell populations, together with associated cytokines and chemokines, in peripheral blood from patients with prostate cancer. These analyses will be complemented by mechanistic ex vivo and in vitro studies, which will constitute the main component of the postdoctoral project. The project is expected to provide deeper insight into how specific immune cell populations and STAT3 signalling contribute to disease progression and therapeutic resistance in advanced prostate cancer. Work tasks and responsibilities A postdoctoral position at Lund University will provide opportunities for scientific and educational development. Duties – what we expect from you We want you to thrive and make the most of your time at Lund University and the Faculty of Medicine. As an assistant professor, you will therefore have the opportunity to engage whole- heartedly in the research you are passionate about. As the holder of this position, most of your time will be allocated for your own research in collaboration with strong research environments, research infrastructures and international platforms. In addition to conducting research, during your time as Assistant Professor you will also develop your teaching expertise, outreach and collaboration skills, as well as your proficiency in the Swedish language. Throughout your employment, you will be an active member of the Faculty of Medicine and participate in its diverse work. It is our hope that one of your first tasks will be to conduct an innovative research project funded by the Swedish Research Council. At the Faculty of Medicine, you will have the opportunity to establish a transformative and internationally competitive research program dedicated to the development of innovative therapies targeting the tumour microenvironment. The position has an emphasis on validation of immunotherapies using advanced mouse models of cancer. Specifically, the position will be part of the L2CancerBridge programme, coordinated by CREATE Health. CREATE Health is a strategic centre for translational cancer research at Lund University. The centre’s work is conducted primarily within the framework of L2CancerBridge, a five-year research programme that aims to bridge the gap between biological discoveries and clinical implementation, with a focus on next-generation antibody modalities and cellular therapies for cancer. The programme offers a genuinely unique research environment, where scientific freedom meets translational focus and clinical grounding, for researchers who want their science to make a real difference. The position supports scientific risk-taking and the development of innovative research directions in immuno-oncology, leveraging available strategic centres, platforms, and advanced core facilities, including Lund University Cancer Centre, the national antibody network within SciLifeLab, the LU-ATMP Centre, spatial biology, and flow cytometry. You are expected to develop a research program in Experimental cancer immunotherapy by leveraging antibody-based therapeutic modalities. The research may include, but is not limited to: Development of antibody-based immunotherapies for cancer Therapeutic targeting of paracrine communication within the tumour microenvironment, with relevance for immunotherapy Pre-clinical validation of experimental therapies in advanced mouse models of cancer Translational efforts to prepare pre-clinical programs for clinical entry You are expected to collaborate with experimental and computational research groups within Lund University. Applicants are encouraged to integrate high-dimensional profiling approaches, including single-cell and spatial omics, and to bridge mechanistic insights with translational applications in Experimental cancer immunotherapy. Qualifications for employment as an assistant professor You must hold a doctoral degree or have equivalent research expertise in Experimental cancer immunotherapy, or a closely related field.
