The focus is on sustainable food production in line with the One Health and One Welfare concepts. The department uses Swedish and English in parallel. The professor should be able to perform the majority of their tasks in English. However, as a public authority, the university has Swedish as its main language according to the requirements of the Language Act and the professor must be able to use Swedish as their working language within two years of beginning the position. The department will provide support with language learning. Eligibility The applicant must have successfully completed a doctoral degree as well as hold the qualifications required for appointment as a docent or have the equivalent academic qualifications, (within a subject relevant to the position); demonstrate research expertise in the subject; demonstrate teaching expertise and have the ability to integrate research and a scientific approach into their teaching; have good knowledge of English. Grounds of assessment The assessment of research expertise will be based on: completed and ongoing research and its relevance and development potential for the faculty and department; the ability to independently initiate and run successful and internationally-recognised research; the ability to compete for external research funding; experience of the role of principal supervisor for third-cycle courses and study programmes. As a principal supervisor, the applicant should have supervised doctoral students throughout their studies and until they are awarded their doctoral degree.  The following will be taken into consideration when assessing teaching expertise: planning, implementation, examination and assessment of teaching and education; the ability to integrate research and scientific approaches into teaching work; supervision and examination of first, second, and third cycle courses; training in teaching and learning in higher education or the equivalent knowledge; pedagogic vision and reflection. The following abilities will also be assessed: developing and leading activities and staff within academia; communicating and collaborating internally; collaborating with external stakeholders and society at large; communicating work with research and development. The subject includes studies of pathogenic bacteria where traditional and molecular biological methods are used to clarify the origin of bacterial infections, pathogenesis and development of resistance in bacteria. The subject also includes pathogenic bacteria in the field of food microbiology. Diagnostics and development of preventive measures such as vaccines are also included. Last date to apply: 31.01.2026 Number of Positions: 01 About the position The postdoc will quantify how warming and increasingly dark waters, caused by brown-coloured terrestrial organic matter, jointly affect coastal ecosystem functioning and service provisioning. The work will bridge ecology and biogeochemistry, integrating whole-ecosystem and mesocosm experiments with in-field measurements in the Baltic Sea. Methods and tasks will be developed collaboratively to resolve how temperature and light variation influence habitat-specific and whole-ecosystem carbon metabolism and productivity, biomass distributions from plankton to fish, and resulting ecosystem services. This position is part of a larger project on coastal ecosystem services and is a great opportunity to do and collaborate in frontier research on climate change effects on coastal ecosystems of high societal relevance. The postdoc will lead and contribute to scientific publications while benefitting from ongoing research in our research groups at SLU in Uppsala and Umeå university, ranging from basal ecosystem metabolism to fish community dynamics. Job description A four-year Ph.D. research fellowship is available at the Computational Chemistry Chemistry and Biochemistry Group (CCBG), Linnaeus University. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic doctoral student in the field of chemistry to work on development of deep learning models for estimating protein-ligand binding energies. The specific project is a part of a large-scale collaboration involving Linnaeus University, Danish Cancer Institute, University of Bergen and Vilnius University. According to the Higher Education Ordinance, a doctoral student is primarily expected to focus on their research studies. However, up to 20% of the position may involve teaching or administrative duties prior to completion of the doctoral degree.
