THESE ARE YOUR TASKS:

  • Preparing solutions and media for the examination and cultivation of biological material
  • experimental work in the fields of microbiology, molecular biology, genetic engineering and biochemistry
  • Production and analysis of genetically modified microorganisms, metabolites and recombinant proteins
  • Working in a biosafety level 2 genetic engineering laboratory
  • genetic and phenotypic characterization of experimental organisms
  • Managing chemicals and sample material
  • Preparing and assisting in the guidance of students during internships
  • Organizational and technical support for students and student assistants
  • organizational tasks for laboratory operations (maintenance/calibration, instruction in laboratory equipment)

THIS IS WHAT MAKES YOU A GOOD FIT FOR US:

  • Completed vocational training as a Biological/Medical Technical Assistant or comparable qualification with the best possible result
  • Relevant professional experience in biological experimental research
  • Relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of analytical instruments (e.g. HPLC, GC, FPLC, IC, mass spectrometers)
  • Professional experience and knowledge in molecular biological (PCR, cloning, sequencing, genetic modification of microorganisms), biochemical (carbohydrate analysis) and microbiological techniques
  • Minimum level of physical fitness for work in the laboratory
  • Good IT software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • sound knowledge of German and good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
