Senior Research Fellow position for a project titled- “Development of High Quality Gundruk through selective fermentation by Indigenous probiotic cultures of Arunachal Pradesh and its safety Assessment”

Position Summary

The College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, invites eligible candidates to a walk-in interview for two purely temporary, contractual, and co-terminus positions under the DBT-funded project “Development of High Quality Gundruk Through Selective Fermentation by Indigenous Probiotic Cultures of Arunachal Pradesh and its Safety Assessment,” implemented at the Department of Post Harvest Management (Ref. No. CHF/CAU/PHM/DBT-HQG/Manpower/2026-27).

For the Senior Research Fellow (SRF) post (01), the emolument is ₹42,000 plus HRA as admissible under project norms, with an upper age limit of 35 years (relaxation as per GoI norms). The essential qualification is a Master’s degree in Post Harvest Technology, Food Science & Technology, Food Microbiology, Food Processing and Preservation, or Horticulture with Post Harvest Technology specialization, with a 4/5-year Bachelor’s degree; alternatively, candidates with a 3-year Bachelor’s and 2-year Master’s must have NET qualification or a Ph.D. in any of the above disciplines. Desirable: experience in fermented food product development and quality analysis of food products.

For the Lab Assistant post (01), the emolument is ₹20,000 per month plus HRA. The essential qualification is a Bachelor’s degree in science from a recognized university; desirable experience includes laboratory work and proficiency in MS Office, statistical software, and data management.

The walk-in interview will be held on 10 July 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Conference Hall, College of Horticulture & Forestry, CAU (Imphal), Pasighat–791102. Candidates must report by 9:00 AM; applications are accepted only between 9:00–10:00 AM on the interview day, with latecomers not permitted. Applicants must bring a duly filled application form (prescribed proforma) plus self-attested photocopies and original certificates.

Selection is based on interview performance. Engagement is initially for one year, extendable on performance; no TA/DA is paid, and the post confers no claim to regular absorption. Currently employed candidates must produce an NOC.
