Eligibility

• Master’s degree in Nematology/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Plant Pathology/Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany/any relevant discipline of life sciences with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s Degree.
• Candidates having Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET/GATE qualifications PLUS 2 years of research experience.
• Exemption from NET is available for:
• Ph.D. degree holders
• Professional Master’s degree holders (3 years)
• Master’s degree holders with integrated degrees like B.Tech. & M.Tech. (5 years)
• Candidates who have qualified any national level examination conducted by the Central Govt. Departments/agencies for admission to Ph.D. programme (e.g., BET/DAE-JEST & J GEEBILS, NBHM/ICMR/ICAR/DoP-GPAT etc.)

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience of working with nematodes, experience in basic molecular techniques (nucleic acid isolation, PCR, plasmid isolation, restriction, ligation, molecular markers etc), molecular cloning and recombinant vector development, genetic transformation of crops (preferably rice), development and analysis of transgenic plants, genome editing of plants, plant tissue culture, nematode culturing, scientific writing; as evident from publications.

Age Limit

• Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women (as on date of advertisement).
• Relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwD (10 years) and other eligible categories as per GoI/ICAR rules.
