Eligibility

• Master degree in Horticulture / Agriculture / Fruit science / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Plant Genetic Resources / Economic botany / Plant physiology / Life Sciences with specialization in Economic Botany / Plant Breeding with a 4-years Bachelor’s degree.
• Or Postgraduate (M.Sc.) in Basic Sciences with a three years bachelor’s degree followed by a two years Master’s degree, and the candidate must have qualified NET as per ICAR No. Edn/627/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015 and Agrl. Edn./6/27/2014-HRD dated October 9, 2015.

Requirements

• Experience in germplasm management and characterization of fruit crops, DUS testing in laboratory-based biochemical analysis, basic computer skills, including data entry, documentation, and report preparation.

Job Description
To assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in the following project activities:

• Collection, maintenance and evaluation of example varieties of guava for DUS characterization.
• Organizing awareness programmes on the PPV & FR Act, 2001, mapping of farmer’s varieties and facilitation of farmer’s variety registration.
• Compilation, analysis and preparation of reports and data sets related to DUS testing.
• Any other work assigned by the PI or competent authority related to the project and Institute activities.

Age Limit
35 years for Men and 40 years for Women (with relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC and as per existing rules) on the date of interview.

Interview Details

• Date and Time of Interview: 04.08.2026 at 11.00 A.M.
• Reporting Time: 9.00 A.M. on the date of interview. Candidates coming late after half an hour of the reporting time will not be entertained under normal circumstances.
• Place of Interview: ICAR-CISH, R.B Road Campus, Telibagh Lucknow (U.P.), located approx. 5 kilometers from Charbagh Railway Station, Lucknow.

• Candidates should bring the filled-in application form (as per the format annexed), all the original certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, degree certificate (either original or provisional), and one set of self-attested photocopies of all the required certificates from matriculation onwards, along with an attested copy of a recent passport size photograph pasted onto the application form.
• Proof of experience and publications must also be submitted.
• ‘No-Objection Certificate’ and ‘Experience Certificate’ are required from the employer in case of employed candidates.

Terms and Conditions

• The post is purely temporary on a contractual basis, co-terminus with the project, and does not entitle the candidate to any claim for regular appointment or absorption in ICAR in the future.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.
• The SRF is allowed to have CL (08 days) and RH (02 days) from time to time, not exceeding 10 days in a year.
