Part-time position with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is limited to one year. (Qualification position pursuant to Section 72 of the Hessian Higher Education Act in conjunction with Section 2 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 of the Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act). The opportunity to pursue a doctorate is available.
Tasks:
- Scientific collaboration in research and teaching in the field of zoology
- Independent work on a research project on onychophores
Requirements:
- A university degree in biology, completed with good or very good grades, is required. The degree must be obtained by the start date at the latest.
- Excellent knowledge of handling onychophores
- Excellent knowledge of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and phylogenetic tree reconstruction.
- Experience with karyotype analysis and Giemsa staining
- Very good knowledge of the morphology and phylogeny of onychophorans, especially the Peripatidae.
- Excellent knowledge of EndNote, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
