Project Associate position for a project titled- “Detection and Molecular Characterization of Plasmodium and other Haemosporidian Parasites in Bats and Their Ectoparasites in Telangana State: A One-Health Approach”

Position Summary

The University of Hyderabad, Department of Biochemistry, School of Life Sciences, invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for one Project Associate position in the research project titled “Detection and Molecular Characterization of Plasmodium and other Haemosporidian Parasites in Bats and Their Ectoparasites in Telangana State: A One-Health Approach” (Ref. No. UH/SLS/BC/MKB/PAIR-1).

The position carries a stipend of ₹30,000 per month (HRA not applicable), with a tenure of 24 months. The upper age limit is 30 years as on 1 July 2026, relaxable by up to five years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Woman categories.

The essential qualification is an Integrated BSc-MSc or M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences with 55% marks and a pass in the NET-LS test. Desirable qualifications require that the candidate has studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as core subjects at the MSc level and is proficient in all of the following techniques: DNA isolation from Plasmodium species, qPCR with Plasmodium gDNA or RNA, SNP analysis of the Plasmodium genome, and in vitro culture of P. falciparum. Work experience in Plasmodium culture will be given preference.

The appointment is purely temporary, with no right to claim regular appointment in the University. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/skill test or at the time of joining.
