Your Responsibilities
- Meeting the objectives in teaching, research and administration in accordance with the development agreement to be concluded
- Independent teaching of courses offered by the Department of Biology, particularly for the Bachelor’s programs in Biology and the teacher training program in Biology and Environmental Studies, as well as the Master’s program in Biology, amounting to an average of twelve semester hours per week
- Supervision of Bachelor’s theses and (co-)supervision of Master’s theses
- Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the Department, particularly in connection with teaching
- Participation in the Department’s public relations activities
- Participation in the department’s research activities
- Independent research and publication activity in the field of functional plant biology
Your Profile
- Completed doctoral degree (PhD) in biology
- Specialization in functional plant biology or a related biological field
- Proven experience in independent teaching in the fields of plant anatomy and plant physiology
- Excellent teaching and pedagogical skills
- Very good command of German and English (particularly for teaching in German-language teacher training and Bachelor’s programs)
- Subject-specific expertise in plant anatomy, plant physiology, and/or plant molecular biology
- Subject-specific expertise in ecology and outdoor/environmental education with a focus on plants (desirable)
- Solid plant identification skills (desirable)
- Experience in supervising academic theses
- Publication record appropriate to the curriculum vitae
- Initiative, sense of responsibility, and strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
