Positions available for the post of one (1) Junior Research fellowship under the Department of Science and Technology (DST)- India (A Statutory body of the Government of India) sponsored project entitled “Deciphering pathogenesis of blister blight phytopathogen Exobasitlium vexans of tea using genome and transcriptome-based analysis and its sustainable management using microbial antagonists.” (File Number: DST/IC/SL/P-13/2026 (G) at Plant Immunity Laboratory, School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Project Duration: 2 years or co-terminus with project

Position details: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

No of post: 01(One)

Monthly Fellowship: 37,000 +HRA

Essential Qualification: 
Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent. Scholars who are selected through
(a) National Eligibility Tests -CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.

Desirable qualification : 
Candidates with a strong background in plant pathology and hands-on experience in fungal molecular biology with experience in DNA/RNA isolation and qPCR will be preferred. Practical expertise in microbial biocontrol assays and culturing  and maintenance of fungal isolates is desired.
