Applications are invited for a post of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in an ANRF-sponsored project entitled “Understanding the role of mitochondrial dynamics during macrophage differentiation in Drosophila”.

Essential Qualifications & Experience: Candidate must have a Master’s degree (with a minimum of 60% marks or higher) in Life Sciences /Biotechnology /Zoology/ Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics, with CSIR-UGC NET (Equivalent qualification/fellowship) or fulfilling the guidelines of DBT/DST. 

Age limit: 28 years on the date of application, with relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Desirable qualifications: The candidate should have practical knowledge in genetics, imaging, molecular and cell biology. Candidates having research experience in the relevant area will be preferred.

Fellowship (Salary): Rs. 37,000 + 30% HRA per month (as per DST/ANRF norms).

Nature and tenure of the position: The position is purely temporary in nature and subject to the availability of funds. To perform Drosophila genetics, cell biology experiments, and data analysis and interpretation to meet project objectives, leading to peer-reviewed publications. The appointment would initially be for 12 months and may be extended further (subject to satisfactory progress) until the fund availability or the completion of the project, whichever is earlier. However, if the fellow’s progress is unsatisfactory, he/she may be terminated from the project at any time.
