The Interdisciplinary Center for Neuroscience (IZN) at the Institute of Neurobiology at Heidelberg University is seeking to fill the following full-time position starting April 1, 2026:
Academic Councilor (f/m/d)
in a temporary civil service position (salary group A13).
The employment contract is limited to three years.
Responsibilities:
- Construction and production of recombinant AAVs and stereotactic injection of viruses into the brain and spinal cord
- Culturing primary neurons and iPSC-derived neurons
- Live imaging of calcium and mitochondrial membrane potential
- Expression of ion channels in HEK293 cells and co-immunoprecipitation experiments
- The teaching obligation is based on the LVVO (Teaching Obligation Ordinance) in its currently valid version
Requirements:
- PhD in molecular biology, neuroscience, or cell biology
- Experience with mouse models of neuropathic and inflammatory pain, including surgical interventions, immunohistochemistry, single cell sequencing analysis
