In our collaborative research center, 19 project leaders and around 100 employees work on the mechanistic elucidation of protein complexes and machinery at cell membranes, thus making pioneering contributions to biomedicine and the treatment of diseases. The Integrated Research Training Group, as part of the CRC 1507, is dedicated to scientifically educating PhD students and to accompany them on their way to a successful PhD thesis. The tasks of the IRTG coordinator include the management and creative development of this structured graduate training program. Furthermore, the coordinator supports the executive manager of the IRTG, organizes retreats and workshops for doctoral students, plans industry excursions, and maintains the alumni network of the CRC 1507. Your responsibilities Further development and implementation of the innovative graduate school program Evaluation and assessment of the scientific training Planning and coordination of events such as workshops, career talks and annual retreats Management of IRTG funds for scholarships and travel expenses Your profile You hold a scientific master’s degree in the field of biochemistry, chemistry or a related natural science discipline, ideally a completed PhD in one of these fields. You are willing to develop professionally in the field of science management. You have very good communication skills in German and English. You are a strong writer and persuasive presenter, and you have good organizational skills. You are a team player, and it is important to you to build and maintain a professional network. The Research Training Group (IRTG), integrated within CRC 1507, is dedicated to the scientific training of doctoral candidates and supports them on their path to a successful doctorate. The IRTG coordinator’s responsibilities include managing and creatively developing this structured graduate training program. In addition, the coordinator supports the IRTG chair, organizes retreats and workshops for doctoral candidates, plans field trips to industry, and maintains the CRC 1507 alumni network.
