The Department of Veterinary Medicine at Freie Universität Berlin is one of five veterinary medicine institutions in Germany and serves as the central university contact point for veterinary medicine issues in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
As part of the Berlin University Alliance, a network of excellence, the department collaborates with numerous university and non-university research institutions. The Equine Clinic of the Veterinary Hospital Freie Universität Berlin is the central university contact point for veterinary clinical services in the field of equine medicine in the Berlin-Brandenburg region, which has more than 6 million
inhabitants. In addition to our comprehensive teaching and research responsibilities, we focus on the medical care of all horse breeds.
As a clinic, we offer a 24-hour emergency service, 7 days a week, and are seeking active support.

Responsibilities:
• participation in teaching, research, and services at the equine clinic
• participation in the emergency service (nights, weekends, holidays)
• independent patient care; theoretical and practical training of students (including OSCE exams) as well as trainees and clinic staff
• documentation of services, billing, and communication with animal owners.
This position serves your own scientific qualification; there is the possibility of becoming a board-certified veterinarian or obtaining a comparable qualification.
Requirements:
completed university degree in veterinary medicine; Veterinary license (m/f/d) or permit to practice veterinary medicine.
Desired:
• Clinical experience in the care of horses during night and emergency shifts, especially colic.
• Experience/interest and commitment to student training in theory and practice; interest in scientific work or specialist veterinary training; skill in handling horses and their owners;
• very good language skills in German (B2) and English
• communication skills and teamwork skills
• high motivation for service; high degree of resilience, reliability and willingness to perform
• taking on tasks in the area of clinic organization (e.g. quality assurance, duty scheduling, teaching planning).
